DAU Tranquil: an inclusive space to enjoy the game calmly

DAU Barcelona Festival reaffirms its commitment to inclusion and accessibility with the creation of
DAU Tranquil, a space designed for people who, either by necessity or preference, seek to play in an environment with less stimulation and more serenity. The goal is for everyone to be able to enjoy the festival in a safe, friendly environment adapted to their rhythm and needs.

DAU Tranquil will be located in Can Fontanet, Interpretation Centre of the Tres Tombs of Sant Andreu , a welcoming space that will have an independent entrance on Carrer de Parellada, 27 (see how to get there on the festival map). From there, you can directly access the rest of the venue through an internal access, which will also allow you to reach this quiet area from within the festival.

The space will have a very small capacity to guarantee a personalized and respectful gaming experience. It will be designed as a game library, with a selection of games to choose from and play, led by professional demonstrators from the sector, also trained as educators.

In addition, it will include a sensory experience and rest area, equipped with emotional and sensory regulation materials — such as tactile elements or sensory panels — that help reduce stimulus overload and promote moments of calm. These resources, common in adapted environments, allow people with hypersensitivity or sensory processing difficulties to better regulate their sensations, manage stress and reconnect with their environment before participating in other festival activities.

DAU Tranquil will have priority access for associations, centers or entities that work with people with these needs, who can request more information and reserve a time slot by writing to info@2025.festivaldau.cat. As for the general public, they will be able to access it on site according to capacity, always respecting the rules of the space.

With this initiative, DAU Barcelona takes another step towards ensuring that play is truly a space for everyone: accessible, respectful of diversity and capable of generating bonds based on calm, respect and the shared pleasure of playing.
